Jim, our business development manager, enjoyed a wonderful time at the Dakota Transit Association Fall Conference & Roadeo held this year at the Ramada by Wyndham Grand Dakota Hotel Dickinson. The first person he was greeted by was our client, Barb Cline of Prairie Hill Transit ED, who we’ve been working with to implement para-transit scheduling and a new fare card system across the whole western part of South Dakota (including a newer project – our smart phone app!)
He went on to meet with and converse with several area transit agencies from both North and South Dakota and spoke with them about the need for scheduling software and digital credit card payments capabilities across both states. The challenge we’ve found in the Dakotas are the large areas that the agencies have to cover. Some agencies in South Dakota have even started to combine in order to consolidate costs, making those service areas even larger!
Additionally, Jim was able to enjoy presentations from the Dickinson PD K9 Unit for both their bit dog and drug unit, as well as a small presentation from “Teddy Roosevelt” portrayed by Joe Wiegand explaining the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library that will be opening at Dickinson State University.
All in all a great trip – many thanks for the hospitality from the folks in Dickinson – we look forward to next year’s conference.
