In a recent interview, Ryan Larsen, President of QRyde, sat down with Steve Furniss, Founder of TranWare, to discuss TranWare’s journey, its innovative features, and what its acquisition by HBSS means for the future of transportation technology.

A Legacy of Innovation in Fleet Management

Steve Furniss shared his extensive experience in the transportation industry, which dates back to the late 1980s. TranWare began as a PC-based fleet management software designed for dispatching and cashiering. Over the years, the system evolved by integrating with major mobile data manufacturers and expanding its capabilities to cater to small and mid-sized fleets. Unlike traditional dispatch systems that were only accessible to large fleets due to cost and infrastructure limitations, TranWare democratized access to advanced technology, making it affordable for family-run businesses and independent operators.

What Makes TranWare Stand Out?

According to Furniss, stability, reliability, and customization are TranWare’s key strengths. The platform has grown organically by working directly with fleet operators, ensuring it meets the unique needs of small and mid-sized businesses. Unlike one-size-fits-all solutions, TranWare offers modular customization, allowing businesses to tailor the software to their specific operational needs.

Additionally, TranWare enables:

  • Flexible fleet management – Supports businesses where owners and employees often handle multiple roles.
  • Scalable deployment – Suitable for both small and large fleets, with adjustable features.
  • Custom configurations – Unlike some cloud-based services where multiple businesses share the same infrastructure, TranWare allows for individualized rule settings per client. In a recent interview, Ryan Larsen, President of QRyde, sat down with Steve Furniss, Founder of TranWare, to discuss TranWare’s journey, its innovative features, and what its acquisition by HBSS means for the future of transportation technology.

Pricing & Deployment

TranWare’s pricing model is flexible, with setup costs and monthly subscriptions at affordable values depending on the fleet size and required modules. Monthly subscription fees vary based on the level of functionality chosen.

Deployment is quick, with system provisioning available within 48 hours and full implementation typically taking 30 to 60 days. The software is hosted on industry-leading platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud, ensuring top-tier security, redundancy, and scalability. However, clients also have the option to host TranWare on their own servers if preferred.

Seamless Integration & Future Outlook

TranWare leverages industry-standard technologies like Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET (C#), and Android-based mobile dispatching. This ensures smooth integration with QRyde and HBSS technologies, further enhancing transportation operations.

With its acquisition by HBSS, TranWare is poised for greater innovation and expansion, bringing its cutting-edge fleet management technology to a wider range of transit operators. Ryan Larsen and Steve Furniss are both optimistic about the future, seeing this partnership as a major step forward in improving efficiency, affordability, and accessibility in transportation technology.
